Fans of Jessica Simpson expressed concern online Friday after they claimed the singer appeared “off” in a video ad for Pottery Barn.
Simpson, 42, showed off her daughter Birdie’s room, designed by Pottery Barn Kids, in an ad while looking “frail” and speaking “slowly,” according to some fans.
“Hi, I’m Jessica Simpson, and welcome to my daughter Birdie’s room, designed by Pottery Barn Kids and a little bit of me,” Simpson said in the video post.
“I was really drawn to the geometric prints and the color scheme. This really, to me, is Birdie’s personality,” she continued. “Thank you everyone for checking out the adorable room of Birdie Mae Johnson.”
Some of the most “liked” comments on the Instagram post included, “Is she ok?” and, “Respectfully…she looks frail.”
“Please tell me I’m not the only one that hears her voice being totally slow…is she ok?!?!,” another comment said.
“Something is wrong here,” one person wrote, while another commented, “something seems off…”
“What is going on here. What’s wrong?” someone asked.
“This makes my heart hurt. She looks so sick,” a comment said, with another reading, “She can barely talk.”
“It’s going to come out in an interview or a book two years from now that she was going through ‘something’ right now,” someone wrote. “Maybe she will see some of these comments and get the help she needs – in whatever area she needs it. She’s always been sunlight, praying she is ok.”
Simpson, who released a revealing memoir in 2020, is known for being open with her fans.
Back in August, the singer talked about her weight issues, celebrating a weight-loss milestone.
“I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!!!!,” Simpson captioned a photo of herself wearing a two-piece swimsuit and sunglasses.
“Hard work,” she added. “Determination, Self Love. I enjoyed a good proud cry today.”
The actress’ memoir, “Open Book,” discusses her battle with drinking.
The 42-year-old recalled in the book getting too drunk on Halloween in 2017 and not knowing who dressed her children into their costumes. The moment made her realize she had to make a change, she said.
“It was 7:30 in the morning and I’d already had a drink,” Simpson wrote in the memoir, recalling Halloween.
“I was terrified of letting them see me in that shape,” she continued, referring to her children. “I am ashamed to say that I don’t know who got them into their costumes that night.”
