This is one issue that doesn’t seem to be directly on the ballot almost anywhere in the country and you only hear a relative handful of candidates talking about it. The subject is the growing trend of doctors providing so-called “gender therapy” for children who have become convinced that they have gender dysphoria, believing that they are somehow the opposite gender of their bodies. Why we’re not seeing more candidates campaigning on this issue is something of a mystery, particularly when you look at the results of yet another poll that came out this week. A recent survey by The Trafalgar Group found that an overwhelming majority of likely voters were opposed to sex-chang surgery or the prescribing of puberty-blocking drugs for minors and would be unlikely to vote for a candidate who supports such procedures.
