Swimsuit model and actress Kate Upton gushing over her World Series champ husband Justin Verlander over the weekend drew sharp comparisons to fellow supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who recently split from legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady.
Upton crashed a post-game interview Saturday after the Houston Astros beat the Philadelphia Phillies and won the series in Game 6, praising Verlander for his craft and emphasizing how much she loves to watch him do what he loves.
“Always play!” the swimsuit model shouted when asked if she thinks her husband should play one more year. “I love watching my husband do what he loves to do.”
“Just to see him do what he loves, just to see him do his craft, he’s such an artist out there. When he’s pitching, it’s really so creative, such an art and we are so honored –,” Upton continued until her husband chimed in with a laugh, “Alright, alright.”
Comments quickly rolled in comparing Upton to Bündchen, who made it clear in September that she was not happy Brady returned to the NFL when it was supposed to be her “turn” to dive into her career.
“Gisele could never,” one comment swiped. “Tom Brady wishes he had a supportive wife like Kate Upton,” another comment said.
“Gisele could learn a thing or two from this video!” one person implored, as another added, “[Gisele Bündchen] – her husband isn’t half the player Tom Brady is so take notes on how to be a supportive wife…”
“Real deal wife. That other dude’s wife could learn something from this interview,” another comment said.

Bündchen told Elle magazine in September that she was not happy over Brady’s decision to un-retire.
“Obviously I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” the model told the magazine. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for them. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
“I’ve done my part, which is to be there for [Tom],” Bündchen continued. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams,” she said. “I feel very fulfilled in that way, as a mother and as a wife. And now it’s going to be my turn.”
