Haliey Welch, the internet personality best known for going viral on TikTok and being dubbed the “Hawk Tuah” girl, is publicly addressing the cryptocurrency debacle that occurred earlier this month.
The 22-year-old Tennessee native capitalized on her overnight success over the summer by launching a podcast and merchandise and appearing at various high-profile events. On December 4, Welch announced that her cryptocurrency, Hawk Tuah memecoin, $HAWK, was live.
The memecoin immediately skyrocketed in value with a market cap of $490 million, but then the valuation dropped more than 90% to less than $100 million in minutes.
