A leftist protester was sentenced to five years in prison after he attempted to disrupt a 2023 event featuring Daily Wire host Michael Knowles at the University of Pittsburgh by setting off multiple homemade smoke bombs and launching a firework explosive into a crowd of police officers, seriously injuring one.
Brian DiPippa, 37, and his wife Krystal DiPippa, 42, were both sentenced over their convictions of obstructing law enforcement after they attempted to disrupt a debate on transgenderism that Knowles was having at the University of Pittsburgh in April 2023. Brian was given five years in prison and Krystal was given three years of probation while they were both ordered to pay $1,400 to the university and $47,284 to the injured officer.
