50 Cent came down hard on a recent video Madonna posted to social media, echoing what many fans were claiming about the Material Girl trying to get attention in some unexpected ways.
The 47-year-old rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, posted a screenshot of a headline about Madonna to Instagram with text that read, “Madonna Using Rap Music For Clout On TikTok Is Pathetic And Truly Disturbs My Spirit.”
“I told ya’ll grand ma [sic] was on bullsh**! Like a virgin at 64 LOL,” the caption said.
50 Cent was reacting to a video Madonna posted of herself that has gotten mixed reviews from fans. The “Like a Virgin” singer is lip-syncing to the song “Vent” by Baby Keem, including lyrics that say, “Have you ever been punched in your motherf***ing face? What you say? Oh, you haven’t? Alright, wait, b****.”
In the TikTok video, Madonna is wearing a revealing top and has put makeup over her eyebrows to make it appear as though she doesn’t have any. While dancing in the video, the 64-year-old singer stuck out her tongue, then turned to the camera and started twerking.
Fans were alarmed at her actions and appearance.
“This is not the Madonna I know,” one fan shared.
“Someone stage an intervention,” another person agreed
“I feel like everything I’ve ever known is just one big lie. This is soul crushing,” a third person chimed in.
Not everyone was mad about the video, though. Instead, some followers rushed to Madonna’s defense, saying she was acting the same as she always has.
“Madonna has always been controversial,” one fan argued. “Why did y’all think she would change with age lol.” Another TikTok follower said, “She’s such a vibe. When I’m her age, I wanna be this free, full of life and not giving a damn.”
50 Cent has called out the “Material Girl” singer in the past, mocking a photo of Madonna wearing a revealing outfit and posing in a sexually suggestive manner. “I hope she didn’t make her kids take this picture. LOL at 63 somebody tell her to chill out please,” the rapper wrote in the caption of a photo.
Madonna responded to his criticism.
“Here is 50 Cent pretending to be my friend,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two singers hugging each other.
“Now you have decided to talk smack about me. I guess your new career is getting attention by trying to humiliate others on social media. The least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult.”
