As we reported earlier, Joe Biden is going out, capping one of his final events with an insane lie, saying he’s declaring the Equal Rights Amendment ratified and it is the “28th Amendment” now. He also tweeted out a letter declaring this. This isn’t even close to reality.
He got smacked with a Community Note referencing how even his own administration’s DOJ Office of Legal Counsel has weighed in, and said the deadline for ratification that passed decades ago was valid. The National Archivist said “cannot be certified as part of the Constitution due to established legal, judicial, and procedural decisions.” So, there isn’t any “28th Amendment.” Everyone has known that for years, up until Friday.
