On Wednesday, the GOP-led House passed a beefed-up version of the “Laken Riley Act,” legislation that would require federal officials to arrest non-citizens who are charged with crimes in the United States.
The tally was 263-156. Forty-six Democrats joined with Republicans in voting for the bill, which will now be sent to President Donald Trump to sign into law. The GOP-controlled Senate passed the legislation earlier this week after adding on a couple of amendments.
