Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) probably didn’t know she had pulled the short straw when she was asked to give the Democrat rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s Joint Address on Tuesday. Slotkin has spent her political career in Congress (first in the House of Representatives) pretending to be a reasonable Democrat, but as they say in the South: That dog don’t hunt, especially after the bare-assed sideshow her party presented during the president’s address. No matter how reasonable it might seem, anything Slotkin had to say after that has fallen on deaf ears. When you cannot applaud a young cancer survivor and his dream or honor grieving mothers who lost their babies thanks to Democrat policies, you’ve pretty much lost the plot.
