On Wednesday, the much-anticipated House Oversight Committee hearing featuring four sanctuary city mayors took place, with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s testimony arguably getting perhaps the most attention of all of them.
The reason for that was primarily due to Johnson’s extreme gaslighting, where he proclaimed “Our efforts to improve public safety by building trust with and investing in our communities are working,” a statement many in the city would take issue with if the contentious public city council meetings in Chicago in recent months are a reliable indicator.
