A House Republican is taking action against Democrats who disrupted the censure of Rep. Al Green (D-TX) for heckling President Donald Trump during his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) revealed a resolution that seeks to strip committee assignments from those who stood in the House chamber well and sang “We Shall Overcome” as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called on Green to present himself for pronouncement of the censure. Johnson slammed his gavel and called for the House to “come to order” but ultimately announced a recess as the Democrats refused to disperse.
