It bears repeating that JD Vance just might be the most normal person to ever become vice president. As he chronicled in his memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” then later recounted on the 2024 campaign trail, he grew up in poverty and with what could be called (as an understatement) a difficult family life, yet still prospered, worked his way through college and law school, then served our country as a Marine.
Only in recent years has he has dipped his toe into public life, first as the result of that best-selling book, then as a U.S. senator. But as we wrote last weekend, several protestors–including members of activist groups that support Ukraine–decided it would be perfectly normal to harass Vice President Vance and his young family while they were on a skiing vacation in Vermont.
