“Snow White” leading actress Rachel Zegler is getting mercilessly mocked online for bragging about the live-action Disney remake taking top honors at the box office.
“#1 MOVIE IN THE WORLD!” the 23-year-old star wrote in her Instagram caption alongside a photo of her dressed as the titular Disney princess while waving from a trailer on the film’s set. The caption also featured a red apple emoji and a snowflake emoji.
While Zegler may be technically correct that “Snow White” came in first place, the truth is that the film has one of Disney’s worst-ever opening weekends for a remake and came nowhere near to recouping its massive $270 million production budget.
The film brought in just $43 million domestically, which was on par with major studio flop “Dumbo” (2019), which made $46 million during its debut.
