Remember when White House Press Secretaries were an embarrassment to behold? If it wasn’t Jen Psaki “circling back” until she resembled a gyroscope, it was Karine Jean-Pierre just flat-out illustrating how she seldom knew what she was talking about. Granted, these two were charged with defending the indefensible, but one would think that, in this important position, a little competence would be desired. But then, if the Biden administration was collectively characterized by any one thing, that thing would not be competence.
Oh, how things have changed. On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a press briefing in which she was accompanied by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, laid a verbal barrage on the legacy media that was a glory to behold – but then, she seems to have a knack for that.
