Paris Hilton Speaks Positively About IVF Journey, But Her Mom Says She’s Struggling

Paris Hilton is getting candid about her journey to motherhood, but her comments differ slightly compared to what her mom, Kathy Hilton, has been saying.

The 41-year-old actress and socialite put an update on her Instagram stories this week. Hilton married venture capitalist Carter Reum in November 2021.

“I’m getting tons of messages of people asking me about when I’m having a baby,” the former “Simple Life” actress shared to Instagram. “The truth is my husband and I wanted to enjoy our first year of marriage together as a couple and we were always planning on starting our family in 2023.”

“IVF is always a journey for everything but we’re so fortunate that we have lots of healthy embryos ready and waiting to be part of our Cutesy Crew!” she continued. “As everyone knows I have an extremely busy work and travel schedule but nothing gets me more excited then [sic] becoming a mom in 2023!”

Hilton’s upbeat message appears to contrast with what her mom said about her journey through IVF. During an earlier interview with E! News, Kathy said her daughter was “trying and trying” to get pregnant but hadn’t been successful so far.

“It breaks my heart because I know she is trying and trying,” she explained. “I always say, ‘Just relax.’ So many people, they struggle and it doesn’t just happen like that.”

Hilton has been talking about her desire to have kids even before she was married, saying she wants “three or four kids” and that she and Reum began discussing parenthood shortly after they started dating.

“We cannot wait to start a family. We are so excited. We are just trying to find time in my schedule because I have so many projects going on,” Hilton said in February 2022.

“It’s insane. I just launched my media company, 11:11 Media, so it’s been a lot of work, but [family is] something that is so important to me. I’m going to make time for it. So you’ll be seeing a little Paris or a little Carter soon.”

The socialite also discussed freezing her eggs.

“I’m so happy that I did it during the pandemic when the world was shut down,” she told Tamron Hall. “I was at home the whole time and I have tons of eggs ready, embryos, and I’m just so happy that Carter and I decided to do that literally, like, six months into our relationship. We knew we were forever right away.”
