Former President Joe Biden made his first broadcast appearance in the U.S. on Thursday since leaving the White House, and he struggled to explain his cognitive decline before his wife Jill stepped in to try and rescue him.
During Biden and the former first lady’s appearance on “The View,” cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Biden for his response to books “deeply sourced” from Democrats that claim in his “final year, there was a dramatic decline” in his cognitive ability.
“They are wrong,” Biden attempted to say in a garbled response. “There’s nothing to sustain that number one. Number two, think of what we left with. We left with a circumstance where we had an insurrection when I started.”
