President Donald Trump caused a bit of a stir Thursday morning when, following his announcement of a major trade deal with the U.K., he took questions from reporters and, in the process, announced that he would be withdrawing the nomination of “Eagle” Ed Martin to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Not to fear, though, Martin has already found a new role in the administration: On Thursday evening, Trump announced that Martin would be serving in the Department of Justice “as the new Director of the Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy Attorney General, and Pardon Attorney.”
