As RedState previously reported, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) learned Monday that she was being charged with two counts of felony assault after the disturbing incident on May 9th, where the newly minted House MS-13 Caucus member was seen putting her hands on federal agents as Democrats tried to storm an ICE detention center in Newark.
The criminal complaint alleges that witness testimony, photo, and video evidence demonstrate McIver’s “multiple attempts to forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, and interfere with the agents attempting to take [Newark Mayor Ras Baraka] into custody.”
Democrats, of course, are pitching fits, with McIver herself proclaiming in a statement that “the charges against me are purely political – they mischaracterize and distort my actions, and are meant to criminalize and deter legislative oversight.”
