White House Celebrates Major U.S. Car Company Developing $388 Million Metro Detroit ‘Megahub’

Stellantis, one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers, announced on Wednesday a $388 million investment to develop a two-million-square-foot parts distribution facility in Wayne County, Michigan. 

This “megahub” will feature an automated storage system, called AutoStore, which utilizes robots to efficiently retrieve and deliver parts to workstations, aiming to enhance speed and accuracy in parts processing. The hub will serve as a central facility for Stellantis’ Mopar parts operations, and will support about 488 union-represented jobs, honoring the company’s commitment to support union labor.

In an X post on Thursday, the White House’s “Rapid Response” account credited the “TRUMP EFFECT” for the investment. The facility, which will launch in 2027, will be located in Van Buren Township.
