Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ somewhat glitchy entrance into the 2024 presidential primary on Twitter brought the expected collection of cheers and jeers from the usual list of suspects. One of the first rounds of “friendly fire” coming from inside of the Governor’s own party came from former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. He had been standing by for an interview with Newsmax in anticipation of the announcement. Rather than attacking DeSantis’ record in Florida (which would be almost impossible from a conservative perspective), Huckabee questioned the Floridian’s commitment to the job.
