The Left just never misses an opportunity to be disgusting.
Most normal Americans would think if there could be one thing that might unite us all, it is a natural catastrophe like Hurricane Ian, right? Nobody was involved in making Hurricane Ian, it just happened like all other hurricanes before it.
But as I said, the Left can never waste an opportunity.
So rather than being decent human beings and focusing on how to help people who have lost nearly everything, the Biden administration thinks that this is a good time to talk to people about climate change and push equity.
What President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris fail to admit is that if there wasn’t a single human being on the face of the planet, hurricanes would still occur, tornadoes would still rip across the plains, blizzards would still pummel the north, rain would still fall, sleet would still cause a mess, and on and on and on. Some storms would be more fierce than others. This is the way it has always been and it always will be.
It used to be called global warming, but now the catch phrase used by leftists is “climate change.” Every time a deadly weather event takes place, Leftists start talking about “climate change.”
They use it as a fear tactic and demand more tax dollars to address this so-called threat. Ultimately, what the Left wants to do is convince the American people to give them more power and expand the government to restrict your rights.
They claim that tragedies like Hurricane Ian are somehow evidence that the climate is changing for the worse and that the entire world needs to hide behind big government for protection. It is of course nonsense. None of the Left’s big government plans, such as the Paris Climate accords have done anything to stop hurricanes, let alone control the climate.
We saw this down in Florida this past week. The Biden administration has wasted no time in pushing another part of their agenda: equity.
Harris, who is one of the least liked vice presidents of all time, decided to attend an event for climate change on Friday and to speak about Hurricane Ian with actress Priyanka Chopra.
“It is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions,” Harris claimed. “And impacted by issues that are not of their own making. And so we absolutely and so we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding that everyone starts out at the same place. And if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities and do that work.”
I am sorry, what does “giving resources based on equity” mean? What are we even talking about here? How did you just transform your first stance on climate change into a second best stance on equity?
Consider what Harris’ equity-based hurricane aid would look like if ever put into practice.
Are we now going to line people up and say, “Oh, I’m sorry, I see that your house has been taken out by a hurricane, but you’re not black enough for resources.””
Or “Oh, I’m sorry. I see that your entire life has been devastated by this disaster. But you’re not a woman, so you’re not going to be able to help you.”
It is insane, but yes, that is actually what the Democratic Party actually wants. Harris actually advocated that. And of course, many Americans were understandably upset and frustrated by her comments. The press actually asked Harris to clarify those remarks.
The vice president didn’t defend her comments, she didn’t clarify remarks, and she didn’t apologize. She actually just completely ignored the reporter who asked her for comment,
You want to laugh at the absurdity of it all, but more than anything it’s just sad.
They push politics even before a tragedy is over.
This story is no different when there is a school shooting. When there is a school shooting, rather than actually caring about the victims or the students and their parents, their first initiative is, “how do I secure more power for myself?”
The first thing the Left does is go on TV and social media and start talking about gun control.
They claim they have prepared legislation to stop school shootings. They never explain how it will work, but ask you to simply trust that big government will get it done.
How did all of this become so overly politicized? Why don’t we take a step back and think about Americans first?
As I said, Kamala Harris continues to be the least liked vice president of all time. I don’t really see that changing — just like the Left will politicize the next tragedy — whether it be natural or manmade.
