Kourtney Kardashian is proud of her recent weight gain and even got specific about the new numbers reflected on the scale.
The 43-year-old mom of three said her extra pounds resulted from undergoing in-vitro fertilization procedures (IVF) with rocker husband, Travis Barker.
In a recent episode of “The Kardashians” on Hulu, the 43-year-old opened up about body image and learning to accept her new size, per People.
“So obviously my body’s changed. But it was all of the hormones that the doctors put me on,” Kardashian said.
“Eight months of IVF treatment has definitely taken a toll on my body mentally and physically. I think it’s taken me a lot to get me to the place of feeling really comfortable and happy with the changes.”
The reality star said even though comments from fans can be hurtful, ultimately, her confidence is buoyed by her new husband. She and Barker married in May 2022.
“Every day, Travis is like, ‘You’re perfect,’” she said during the episode. “If I make one complaint, he’s like, ‘You’re perfect. You’re so fine… You’ve never been better.’”
“Having a partner who is so supportive of me and always complimenting me, no matter what, it’s just helped me to really embrace the changes and actually to the point where I love the changes now,” Kardashian continued.
Next, the reality star revealed that she actually prefers being “thicker.”
“I’m so into my thicker body,” Kardashian went on. “When I was super skinny, it’s like a time when I was super anxious… Not about eating. Not about staying at a certain weight. But, like, just in toxic relationships. I used to always say this: When I’m super skinny, just know I’m not happy.”
“I used to be, like, 95 lbs.,” the Poosh founder explained. “And then 105 became my new normal weight. I’m 115. I used to be stuck on the number,” she added. “I also love being curvier. It’s just channeling that queen energy and embracing the woman that I am.”
The mom of three had previously discussed how she felt “pushed” into doing IVF because of her age. She shares her kids with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.
“If you even look anything up online about things you can do to help get pregnant … it says on there, like, ‘If you’re over 40’ — or it might even say something younger — it says, ‘Go right away,’” Kardashian said during an episode of the “Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, per Page Six. “So I felt a little bit pushed.”
During that same conversation, the reality star confirmed that she and Barker are “now done with IVF” and hoping that “God blesses [them] with a baby” without medical intervention.
