Unless you’re a local, you may have never heard of Randall’s Island in New York City. It typically doesn’t generate a lot of headlines, but it will soon. It’s a nice, small island located between the East River and the Harlem River and it has public parks, sports fields, and several other amenities. But now there are massive metallic structures being constructed there where as many as 2,000 illegal migrants will be housed, courtesy of the taxpayers of the state. Governor Kathy Hochul has secured funding to provide $20 million per month to cover the cost of the shelter. That works out to $10,000 per month for every migrant being given a bed there.
