CBS & NBC Report on Feds Ready to Charge Hunter Biden, ABC & PBS Ignore

On Thursday, the Washington Post reported news that conservatives and other Americans have been waiting for since at least 2020, that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has collected enough evidence to charge President Biden’s delinquent crackhead son Hunter with tax and gun-related charges. While you would think all three networks would cover this, only CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News bothered to report on the Hunter Biden crime spree. ABC’s World News Tonight and PBS News Hour completely ignored the story.

Instead of reporting on Hunter Biden’s pending criminal charges, ABC’s World News Tonight ran more segments attacking Georgia Republican Senatorial candidate Hershel Walker and obsessing over the riots and the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. Meanwhile, NewsBusters Executive Editor Tim Graham reports that PBS News Hour spent seven whole minutes on Biden rewarding degeneracy and illegal behavior by pardoning people with federal Marijuana charges.

Giving CBS’s report, Catherine Herridge announced “the FBI believes it has sufficient evidence against the President’s son.” She added that “evidence was provided months ago to David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney in Delaware was appointed by President Trump and has yet to bring charges.”

Digging into the focus of the investigation, Herridge revealed that in recent months “the probe narrowed focusing on delinquent tax payments including income Hunter Biden earned as a board member for a Ukrainian energy company,” as well as “allegations that Hunter Biden made false statements on a gun registration form and may have disposed of a gun improperly.”

Former federal prosecutor Harry Litman then told Herridge that it’s “a fairly straightforward charge to prove and it carries a significant penalty under federal law.”

Over on NBC Nightly News, correspondent Ken Dilanian reported that “the final decision about whether to file charges rests with the top federal prosecutor in Delaware, who is appointed by President Trump.”

Dilanian went on to reveal that “an NBC News analysis of information on his [Hunter’s] laptop showed he and his firms were paid $11 million from 2013 to 2018, including by Chinese and Ukrainian firms.”

JERICKA DUNCAN: We begin tonight with some breaking news. CBS News has learned that the FBI has gathered what it believes is enough evidence to support charging President Biden’s son Hunter with crimes related to his taxes and a gun purchase. The FBI has sent the information to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Delaware. An attorney for Hunter Biden hit back at the allegations in a statement. Attorney Chris Clark said it is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a grand jury investigation such as this one. Well, we have a lot of news to get to tonight and CBS’s Catherine Herridge will start us off. Catherine, good evening.

CATHERINE HERRIDGE: Jericka, tonight there is movement in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation with sources telling CBS News the FBI believes it has sufficient evidence against the President’s son. The years-long federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s business practices began before Joe Biden was President, and sources tell CBS News the FBI believes there is enough evidence to prosecute. That evidence was provided months ago to David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney in Delaware was appointed by President Trump and has yet to bring charges.

HARRY LITMAN (FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR): There’s a difference between agents gathering evidence and a U.S. Attorney making a prosecutorial decision, and I think he will have free rein to make the decision.

HERRIDGE: Sources tell CBS News the probe explored whether the younger Biden, his uncle James and other business associates violated tax, money laundering, and foreign lobbying laws. Since the early months of this year, the probe narrowed focusing on delinquent tax payments including income Hunter Biden earned as a board member for a Ukrainian energy company.

A source close to the President’s son said he paid off more than a million dollars in past-due taxes. Sources familiar with the probe told CBS News investigators were also looking at allegations that Hunter Biden made false statements on a gun registration form and may have disposed of a gun improperly.

LITMAN: So it figures to be a fairly straightforward charge to prove and it carries a significant penalty under federal law.

HERRIDGE: A lawyer for Hunter Biden called the apparent leak inherently biased, one-sided, and inaccurate, adding their team believes prosecutors should not be pressured rushed, or criticized for doing their job. President Biden maintains he is not being briefed on the case.

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.

HERRIDGE: The President has consistently denied knowledge of his son’s work but congressional Republicans say they will investigate if they take control of committees after the midterm elections. Tonight the Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s office declined to comment on the status of the investigation. Hunter Biden’s lawyers said in a statement the Justice Department should investigate the leak. Jericka?

DUNCAN: Catherine Herridge, thank you.

LESTER HOLT: Now to new reporting that Hunter Biden could potentially face federal criminal charges. Ken Dilanian explains.

KEN DILANIAN: Tonight, new signs Hunter Biden could face criminal charges. The Washington Post reporting federal agents believe they have a plausible case to charge the President’s son with tax crimes, and also with lying on a gun application when he said he wasn’t using illegal drugs. Citing people familiar with the case. The final decision about whether to file charges rests with the top federal prosecutor in Delaware, who is appointed by President Trump.

The Justice Department declined comment. NBC News has not confirmed the report. Biden’s lawyer saying prosecutors, in this case, are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses. Hunter Biden’s business dealings have repeatedly come under fire, including taking a lucrative position on a Ukrainian energy company’s board while his father was Vice President. An NBC News analysis of information on his laptop showed he and his firms were paid $11 million from 2013 to 2018, including by Chinese and Ukrainian firms. Last year Hunter Biden insisted he did nothing wrong.

HUNTER BIDEN: I will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

DILANIAN: His lawyer said he paid a $2 million tax debt. President Biden has repeatedly said he was not involved in his son’s business dealings. The White House tonight is declining comment. Lester?

HOLT: Ken Dilanian in our Washington newsroom, thank you.
