New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s efforts to ban the carrying of firearms in Albuquerque got off to a rocky start and it’s only gone downhill from there. First, law enforcement officials in the region declared that they wouldn’t enforce the ban. Constitutional scholars from across the country weighed in, calling the order a non-starter. And now a federal judge has blocked the ban. The order from U.S. District Court Judge David Urias seemed to do little more than echo what everyone else has been saying.
