Left Triggered By Kanye Truth Bombs, Says Ben Shapiro As Candace Owens’ BLM Doc Set To Drop

Ben Shapiro defended Kanye West Friday, telling his vast podcast audience the rap and fashion mogul under fire for speaking his mind is on the money about abortion, Candace Owens, and Black Lives Matter being “a scam.”

West, who began a tumultuous week by appearing with Daily Wire host Candace Owens at a Paris fashion show wearing “White Lives Matter” shirts, has not been holding back since. On Thursday night, he appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” for a wide-ranging interview. In between, West lit up his critics on a deluge of social media posts, including one in which he declared, “Everyone knows Black Lives Matter was a scam. Now it’s over.”

“Correct,” Shapiro said on his radio show and podcast Friday. “Black Lives Matter as an organization was, in fact, a scam, which is why Candace Owens is bringing out a brand-new documentary.

“I’ve seen it,” he added. “It is shocking and groundbreaking, and it’s typical Candace.”

The documentary, titled “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold,” will be available exclusively for Daily Wire plus members on October 12. In it, Owens explores how the BLM Global Network Foundation and its former executive director Patrisse Cullors raised as much as $90 million in the wake of George Floyd’s death in 2020 and have since faced scrutiny over how the money was spent.

West, a cultural icon known for going against the grain who once said he likes “the way Candace Owens thinks,” posted the documentary’s trailer to his nearly 18 million Instagram followers on Thursday. And on the Fox News appearance, he continued to take on the Left – while finding more common ground with Shapiro.

Carlson asked West why he wore a lanyard containing an ultrasound, and the star replied that it is because he is against abortion, lamenting the fact that in years past more black babies have been aborted than born in New York City. Shapiro, who shares the pro-life view, said West knows the Left will be triggered but seems past the point of caring.

“The minute he says he’s pro-life, [critics will say] ‘That guy is crazy. He’s pro-life? No way. That’s impossible,’” Shapiro said.

West also touched on the trend of celebrating obesity, another issue Shapiro has spoken out about. Mentioning singer Lizzo, who Shapiro has taken to task as well, West said embracing morbid obesity is “demonic.”

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots – that’s a term for – it’s like telemarketer callers, like on Instagram, they attack her for losing weight,” West said. “Because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy.”

Shapiro predicted critics will once again pronounce West “crazy” for his views.

“Frankly, Kanye sounds much more sane than virtually everybody else in public life,” Shapiro said.
