Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that he’s “sick of Republicans” using the crisis on the southern border as an election issue and that as president he will “get the job done.”
DeSantis made the remarks during a CNN presidential town hall event in Iowa on Tuesday night when asked by a member of the audience what can be done to address the issue.
He said that he will “empower states to enforce immigration law,” which would allow states like Texas to immediately deport illegal aliens back across the U.S. border.
“I am going to build the border wall,” he said. “And I remember in 2016, I went to the rallies with Donald Trump, he said he was going to build the wall and have Mexico pay for it.
