But then White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre admitted that he was “familiar” with the statement made by his son, which prompted questions about his involvement and if he had advised him not to testify. If he had, that could raise questions about trying to obstruct the investigation.
Reporters also pressed her about his prior comments on the question of defying subpoenas but she didn’t want to go there.
