Fulton County DA Fani Willis spoke at the Big Bethel AME Church in her first remarks pertaining to the scandal about an alleged “improper relationship” with the man she had named to be a special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, to bring the case against former President Donald Trump.
She was accused by a defendant in the case, Michael Roman, of appointing Wade and having him paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. Documents in a filing by Roman also showed what appeared to be payment for two meetings with the White House, which raised concerning questions about possible coordination.
