New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu said on Sunday that voters should be concerned with a statement that former President Donald Trump made last week about presidents needing to have “total immunity” from criminal prosecution.
Sununu made the remarks during an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC News’s “Meet The Press” ahead of his state’s primary election on Tuesday.
The topic came up after the former president posted on Truth Social on Friday that a president “MUST HAVE FULL IMMUNITY” from criminal prosecution, “EVEN EVENTS THAT ‘CROSS THE LINE.’”
“Do you agree? Should the president have total immunity, even for things that crossed the line?” Welker asked.
