Senator John Fetterman just keeps surprising those of us who had him pegged as a progressive weirdo.
It turns out that on the really important issues of the day, he’s a sane person. During his campaign, he was presented as the progressive alternative to the Republican candidate endorsed by Donald Trump. Pennsylvanians knew Fetterman as their Lt. Governor at the time. The Republican candidate, Dr. Oz, was a dud. That race became another Republican loss in the list of losses suffered since 2018. Fortunately, this year the Republican candidate that should have been the party’s nominee in that race is running and hopefully will win.
Anyway, during that campaign Fetterman suffered a life-threatening stroke. Somewhere along the line during his recovery and his treatment for clinical depression, he has abandoned the dark side and sounds a lot more conservative than he used to.
