2 House Dems Vote Against Denying Refuge To Noncitizens Involved With Hamas Attack On Israel

Two House Democrats voted against a bill to deny refuge in the United States to noncitizens involved with aiding Hamas in carrying out the deadly attack on Israel on October 7 of last year.

Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO), who is facing a criminal inquiry into her expenditures on security services, opposed the Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act. Both lawmakers are members of the leftist “Squad” who have been critical of U.S. support for Israel as it fights Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

One other Democrat, Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), voted “present.” The rest of the Democrats who voted, 207 of them, joined with all 215 voting Republicans to pass the measure. Six members did not vote.
