Kathy Hochul has an interesting take on the border crisis: It is all Republicans’ fault.
Speaking at a press conference in Albany this week, Hochul called on Republicans in New York to pressure their leadership to strike a deal with Democrats on the border:
Why aren’t the Republicans in the state of New York banning together and asking for their leadership in Washington to sign on to the bill that the Senate has negotiated, [that] Republicans in the Senate have negotiated?
There is a deal. There is a deal waiting to be signed and you know they create the chaos, it’s like you know somebody sets their house on fire and then complains we could take so long for the fire department to respond.
Hochul also insisted that Joe Biden is willing to shut down the border if only Republicans in Congress would agree to a soft bipartisan deal:
