Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in third in the Iowa caucuses. She was second in New Hampshire, after everyone else had dropped out. But she’s still 30 points down in her home state of South Carolina to former President Donald Trump.
She has to figure out some way to bring in voters. Not every primary is going to be New Hampshire, with so many undeclared voters voting; If she does badly in South Carolina, she may be effectively done, even if she stays in the race.
But the tactic that she tried the other day — posting alleged fan mail — did not go over well, when people pointed out that the email she posted hadn’t been sent, that it had no address and no subject.
