Florida Governor Ron DeSantis went scorched earth on the Republican Party during a press conference on Wednesday following a string of failures the party has suffered at the national-level.
Some of the setbacks that Republicans have faced this week include their failure to pass a standalone bill in the House, where they are the majority, to support Israel, and their failure to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The setbacks come after some Republicans in the Senate worked with Democrats to create a controversial bill to address President Joe Biden’s border crisis that critics, including DeSantis, have said will make the situation worse.
