A mother of two who was a radio DJ for Kansas City’s KKFI station was shot and killed when gunfire erupted at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, according to the station.
KKFI posted on Wednesday that Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the host of Taste of Tejano, was killed in the shooting that turned a celebration into a nightmare. According to the staff at four hospitals in the Kansas City area, at least 30 people were being treated for injuries stemming from the shooting, 19 of whom had gunshot wounds, CNN reported.
“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally,” KKFI said. “Our hearts and prayers are with her family. … This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC Community.”
