Jason Aldean Jokes About Maren Morris At Nashville Concert, Crowd Boos Her Name

The feud between Jason Aldean and Maren Morris is raging on.

Aldean mentioned her name during a recent Nashville concert and clearly, the crowd was on his side. The 45-year-old country singer teased that he would invite a special guest to play with him and listed several names as potential options.

“I thought, man, who could I call? I got some friends in town,” he told the audience, videos from social media show. “I could call Luke Bryan. I could call Kane Brown. See if Kenny Chesney’s here and not at the beach.”

The crowd could be heard cheering wildly after each suggestion. Then Aldean suggested “Maren Morris” and that all changed.

When many in the stadium started booing at the mention of her name, Aldean pretended to be confused as to why they were reacting that way.

Ultimately, the “Trouble With a Heartbreak” singer introduced his surprise guest, fellow country star Morgan Wallen, and performed Wallen’s song “Whiskey Glasses” and Aldean’s “You Make It Easy” with him, per US Weekly.

The beef between Aldean and Morris stems from a previous incident between Morris and Aldean’s wife in August. Brittany Aldean posted a video to Instagram with the caption, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

Jason made a joke about that too, saying, “Lmao!! Im glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out,” along with the cry-laughing emoji. He later got dropped from his PR firm because of the comments and controversy.

Her stance got a lot of support but also triggered some backlash, most notably from liberal country stars like Morris and Cassadee Pope.

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie,” Morris wrote in her reply.

“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” Pope echoed. “But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

The feud continued over the following weeks, with Brittany selling Insurrection Barbie t-shirts. She also clarified her stance on the trans argument, as The Daily Wire reported.

“Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils,” Brittany said.

“I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence,” she continued. “Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly, that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions.”
