Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell chose Senator Katie Britt (R=AL) to deliver the Republican response to President Biden’s State of the Union Address. This is an excellent choice.
Katie Britt will provide a sharp contrast to Joe Biden. That is important this year. Joe Biden is physically and mentally challenged to complete a cohesive speech. Media accounts of his State of the Union Address last year were so complimentary that even the legacy journos must have felt the need for a shower afterward. They take their job to protect Biden and support his re-election seriously, to the detriment of American voters.
In contrast, Katie Britt is articulate and able to focus like a laser on the topic at hand. She delivers a message skillfully to keep her audience’s attention while showing passion for the subject.
