Sean “Diddy” Combs is not just some rapper. He’s an extremely influential hip-hop mogul with deep involvement in the industry after founding Bad Boy Records three decades ago. The swirling web of lawsuits surrounding his empire and family is not of the run-of-the-mill “one of those rappers got pulled over again” variety. This unordinary distinction was on display late last month when Diddy had two of his homes, in Los Angeles and Miami, raided by Homeland Security Investigations in what the federal agency said was a sex trafficking investigation.
