Megyn Kelly raged at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for recommending the COVID vaccine for school children and warned that the next step is for some states to add the vax as a prerequisite for students to attend school.
The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices unanimously decided on Thursday to add the COVID vaccine to the recommended immunization schedule for people including children as young as six months, The Daily Wire reported.
“Once it goes on this list, state after state will say, ‘Let’s put it up there with the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccines, let’s make it a prerequisite for children to attend school,’” Kelly warned, noting that schools were closed during the pandemic largely at the advice of the CDC. “We’re not there yet, but that’s what’s about to happen.”
Heart-related aliment risks associated with the COVID vaccine in kids are low, Kelly said, but they exist, and too many kids are “dying post-vaccine.” At the same time, COVID has almost no risks to kids who are not immunocompromised, she asserted.
“Why aren’t more reporters raising questions about the safety of these vaccines for kids, and how on earth can the CDC justify adding them to its list of recommended mandatory vaccines for children?” Kelly pressed.
“In our country and abroad, too many young people are dying post-vaccination,” she explained, citing two studies, one from the U.S. and one from Thailand. “Again, it’s rare, but it is happening. And to me, the numbers are downright scary.”
The CDC says on its website that state laws “establish vaccination requirements for school children,” not the CDC. However, as Kelly noted, there is precedent for states crafting policy based on CDC recommendations, particularly during the lockdowns.
“These laws often apply not only to children attending public schools but also to those attending private schools and day care facilities,” the CDC notes. “All states provide medical exemptions, and some state laws also offer exemptions for religious and/or philosophical reasons.”

Already, Republican governors are assuring their constituents that the COVID vaccine will not be a requirement for school children.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R), for example, tweeted Thursday, “COVID-19 mandates should be in our rear-view mirror The decision to vaccinate a child against COVID-19 is for Virginia parents to make about what’s best for them and their family. We will not adhere to these CDC mandates.”
“In Virginia, parents matter,” the Republican added.
COVID-19 mandates should be in our rear view mirror. The decision to vaccinate a child against COVID-19 is for Virginia parents to make about what’s best for them and their family. We will not adhere to these @CDCgov mandates.
In Virginia, parents matter.
