A student at Columbia University demanded on Tuesday that the pro-Hamas extremists who overtook a building on campus are given “basic humanitarian aid” so they do not “die of dehydration and starvation.”
The student was identified by journalists, researchers, and a member of U.S. Congress as being Johannah King-Slutzky, a PhD student who was focused on “theories of the imagination and poetry as interpreted through a Marxian lens.”
A journalist at a press conference asked her, “Why should the university be obligated to provide food to people who’ve taken over a building?”
“Uh, well, first of all, we’re saying that they’re obligated to provide food to students who pay for a meal plan here,” she said, adding that they want it to be allowed “to be brought in.”
