‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ First Day Advance Ticket Sales Set Record For R-Rated Film

The upcoming action movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” is off to a promising start after breaking the record for pre-release ticket sales for an R-rated film.

“Some 200,000 movie fans have bought their AMC tickets already. This is more Day 1 ticket sales at AMC than for any other R-rated movie ever,” AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron wrote on X. The online movie ticket site Fandango also reported a huge number of pre-sales, per The Hollywood Reporter.

While neither AMC nor Fandango provided hard numbers, the outlet noted that ticket sales so far likely earned the film between $8 and $9 million. These figures set the record for ticket pre-sales for a film that’s rated R and are the best so far for the “Deadpool” franchise.
