One strike and … you’re canceled. Tech giant Meta has vowed to censor speech related to major sporting events this summer.
Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp, announced plans to target “bullying, violent threats and hate speech” across its platforms. As sports fans look forward to the UEFA EURO 2024 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, they now face the added concern of being silenced by biased online censors.
The Big Tech company also explicitly mentioned its coordination with law enforcement, indicating that no activity or event is exempt from Meta’s mania for crushing free speech.
