Professional wrestler John Cena announced he will retire from professional wrestling after his final match at next year’s WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
The 47-year-old athlete, who has also worked as an actor, made the announcement during a speech in Toronto in front of a crowd at Scotiabank Arena.
“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” Cena said.
The 16-time WWE champ also mentioned there will be a farewell tour with dozens of dates before he steps out of the ring for good.
“I hear a mixed opinion out there. A lot of questions maybe, right? Like, why here? I want to talk about that for a second. I want to talk about Toronto. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canada. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canadians,” Cena continued in his speech, per US Weekly.
