Donald Trump has authorized a fundraiser for his supporter who was tragically killed during a failed assassination attempt on the former president during a campaign rally on Saturday.
The GoFundMe account, which has been promoted by eldest Trump son Don Jr., has already raised more than half a million dollars.
“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” the fundraiser says. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover.”
“May God bless and unite our nation,” it adds.
As of Sunday morning, more than $565,000 had been raised, with a goal of $1 million.
