The partisan and snarky part of me would like to be able to relay to you that the speech delivered by Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff Tuesday night at the DNC was cringe and awful. And, to be fair, there was some cringe:

But no, the speech wasn’t awful. Not at all. It began with a video introduction narrated by his son, Cole, featuring family photos of his father and telling the story of his life. It was lighthearted and sweet, and it set the tone for Emhoff’s remarks.
