The word “Democrat” was not uttered, as is often the case in Democrat-related scandal stories. You could see a (D) briefly under Hochul’s name on screen on ABC.

NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt previewed the story in the introduction; “The high-level political aide charged of being a secret agent for China. What she and her husband are accused of doing in exchange for millions of dollars.” When it came time for the report, Holt announced: “A former top aide to New York governor Kathy Hochul was arrested today on charges of acting as a secret agent of the Chinese government.”
