If you judge Kamala Harris by the one big decision she made so far in her campaign — picking Tim Walz as a running mate — she doesn’t fare very well.
Walz has largely been a mess, bringing with him a stolen valor scandal and all sorts of prevarications about his life. I think she picked him because he was from the Midwest, and maybe she thought that would resonate in the Rust Belt. But he’s a leftist, so I don’t think that will work that well with the folks there.
Walz was delegated to an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday.
As I wrote earlier, the Harris-Walz campaign got some bad news on Thursday from a report by CBS’ Major Garrett about how resilient the support for former President Donald Trump was. Plus, there was a new, post-debate poll that had Trump going up in Michigan by one point.
