CNN anchor Don Lemon admitted on Wednesday that Democratic candidates around the country were making it clear that they did not “want to be seen” with President Joe Biden.
Lemon and his new morning co-hosts Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow responded Wednesday to the most recent polling — which showed yet another dip in popularity for President Biden in conjunction with dangerous numbers for a number of Democrat-held seats in both the House and the Senate — and Lemon noted that the one person struggling Democrats did not want alongside them on the campaign trail was the president himself.

Collins began by noting that the president’s plummeting numbers were “a big factor” dictating Biden’s light campaign-stop schedule.
“He is not going to the places that you’re seeing former President Obama go to,” Collins continued. “It’s because of that approval rating.”
“And a lot of people are not … you know, they don’t want to be seen with the president, quite frankly, and they don’t even want to answer the question about whether they should be running with him, or having him on the campaign trail, or if they’ll support him come 2024,” Lemon added.
Whether or not Democrats want to be seen with President Biden on the campaign trail has been a hotly-contested topic in recent weeks — one such question even prompted Biden to scold a reporter on the White House lawn.

“John Fetterman’s gonna appear with you today in Pennsylvania, but there haven’t been that many candidates campaigning with you —” the reporter prompted, but Biden interrupted.
“That’s not true! There’ve been 15,” Biden shot back, reaching out of the frame and appearing to lay hands on the reporter. “Count kid, count!”
Biden’s appearances, though fewer than one might expect from a sitting president, have been riddled with gaffes and falsehoods that have gone largely unnoticed or outright ignored by the corporate media.
“This won’t shock anyone, but the three major broadcast networks morning shows — ABC’s @GMA, @CBSMornings, and @NBC’s @TodayShow — ignored Biden’s multiple lies on the campaign trail yesterday. Inflation, Iraq, Beau Biden, claiming to have attended Delaware State — all of them,” NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck tweeted.

Biden’s stump appearances have been so lackluster, in fact, that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) called a campaign stop for his opponent, Democrat Charlie Crist “an in-kind donation to my campaign” — and offered to pay the president to keep campaigning in Florida.
“I think it’s an in-kind contribution to my campaign. I just want to make the offer publicly. We will underwrite him to stay in Florida for the rest of the campaign. If Joe wants to stay, it’ll be on our dime and we’d love for the people of Florida to be reminded that the Democrats in this state are with Biden 100% of the time,” DeSantis said.
