An unidentified Texas man purchased a guitar autographed by Taylor Swift during a charity auction, only to immediately destroy it with a hammer in front of the assembled crowd.
Videos of the incident recently circulated on social media. The white-haired gentleman had the winning bid for the $4,000 instrument at the Ellis County WildGame Dinner in Waxahachie, just outside of Dallas, on Saturday night, per TMZ.
The hosting organization is a “non-profit organization that raises money to benefit youth agricultural education,” the website noted.
The video shows the smiling man holding the instrument up in one hand, repeatedly smashing it with a hammer, and the crowd cheering him on. The auction winner next held the destroyed instrument over his head and appeared to consider requests for him to smash it on the ground, but ultimately, he just walked away with it as the auctioneer…
